Indulgences can take many forms. There’s manis, French macarons, a cocktail, a massage. For a while I was into buying really expensive panty hose. IDK why exactly, but it felt so luxe.
Now that I’m comfortably set in my 30s, my biggest pleasure is a nap. To me, they are the height of luxury. I can only imagine how many naps rich people take. If I could just get a good 20 min nap in the middle of every day, I would be set for life.
Unfortunately, I only get them on the weekends. Even if we have stuff going on, I’m pretty good about sneaking in some kind of snooze during daylight hours, and the easiest way for me to do that is with a golden turmeric latte. They’ve tout all kinds of anti-inflammatory claims, but I dig how they chill me out so hard.
While they’re easy to make, watch out for spills. Even if you don’t actually spill any, you will still find stains (thank gawd, for OxiClean.) While it stains every piece of clothing it touches, turmeric will actually whiten your teeth. Phew!
Golden Turmeric Latte
- 1 cup almond milk (homemade if you’ve got it!)
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp coconut oil (or ghee if you’ve got it!)
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp ginger (ground or fresh)
- cracked black pepper
- ice cubes
Blend almond milk, water, turmeric, coconut oil, and cardamom. Serve topped with cracked black pepper.
Easy peasy. Sweet dreams!
